Guide: How Platform Language Affects Generated Content

Updated

Understanding how your language settings impact the documents you create is crucial for ensuring your final reports and forms are delivered to your clients or team exactly as intended.

In short: The language your platform is currently set to dictates the language of all the content it generates.

Here is a breakdown of how this rule applies across the platform.

Portal Language = Content Language

The system automatically syncs the output language of your documents with your active portal language.

  • English Portal: If your platform is set to English, all content you create, including your Final Report, will be generated in English.

  • Finnish Portal: If your platform is set to Finnish, all content you create, including your Final Report, will be generated in Finnish.

This ensures a seamless experience, meaning you don't have to manually select a language for each document you create—the system simply follows your portal's settings.

Generated Content is Final

It is important to note that once a document is generated, its language cannot be changed. The language is locked in at the exact moment of creation. If you or an end user decide to change the portal language after a report or form has already been generated, the existing content will remain exactly as it is. The platform will not retroactively translate or alter previously created documents.

Special Scenario: KYC Forms and Language Selection

KYC (Know Your Customer) forms involve two parties: the sender and the end user. Because of this, the language behavior has a few extra layers.

1. The Sender's Initial Choice When you send a KYC form, you have the ability to choose the initial language that will be presented to the end user.

2. The End-User Override Because the system always relies on the active platform language at the time the content is actually generated, any language changes made by the end user will override your original selection.

The KYC Form Example: > You (the sender) select English as the presentation language and send the KYC form. The end user opens it in English, but decides to change their platform language to Finnish while completing the form. Because their active platform language is now Finnish, the final generated KYC form will be saved and submitted in Finnish.

3. Controlling Supported Languages (Preventing Overrides) If you want to ensure that all generated content remains in a specific language—for example, if you require all users to work strictly in English—you can enable or disable supported languages. By disabling other languages, you remove the end user's ability to switch languages and trigger an override.

To adjust these settings, please contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Verified Support. Your CSM or assisting support personnel can help you:

  • Configure your global account settings to only support your preferred languages.

  • Modify specific KYC forms to restrict language options for the end user.
